Breaking barriers with ecosystem thinking: helping Aertssen accelerate strategic innovation

Nimbuz and Aertssen Group have been working together for over four years, and it’s far from an ordinary partnership. This collaboration demonstrates how joining forces can multiply success! Curious what that means? Eline Vanhoutte and the Aertssen Group management reflect on the impressive progress made in their ongoing partnership.

From business opportunity to technology (not vice versa)

As Bluu’s business development team, we connect business challenges with potential technology, often based on Microsoft. “But technology and software solutions are never the starting point,” Eline says. “You see, there are plenty of trends in this landscape, but no one within the Cronos Groep would ever jump on them just because they are a cool gimmick. Take AI, for example, which has many applications. At Aertssen Group, it’s primarily used for predictive maintenance to determine when a specific crane requires servicing or repairs. But this always comes from real challenges. And that’s what we at Nimbuz focus on: the business opportunity and exploring which technological innovations can be linked to it.

Aertssen Group agrees: “We’re particularly proud of the AI bootcamp organized by Nimbuz and MbarQ. These sessions generated numerous valuable ideas, which we’re still implementing today!”

Strengthening connections within the cluster

Nimbuz rarely works alone. Over the years, we’ve connected Aertssen Group to specific competence centers, tailored to their unique needs. “Mr. Watts helped us build a digital twin for machine maintenance,” Eline says. “The Flow assisted Aertssen Group in setting up a modern workplace using Copilots, and MbarQ is currently optimizing Aertssen Group’s processes with AI.”

“What really sets Nimbuz apart is their amazing flexibility and their incredible network of people skilled in the Microsoft stack – exactly what we need,” Aertssen Group says. “Their reliability is exceptional! Nimbuz quickly finds the right talent when we face staffing issues, ensuring we stay on track. The peace of mind they provide is genuinely remarkable.”

One continuous transformation project

As Aertsen Group rapidly grows, their demand for advanced solutions also increases. “Our partnership is like one big transformation project where we constantly adapt and evolve,” Eline notes.

Aertssen Group concludes, “With their flexibility and solid history, Nimbuz remains a valuable partner, ideally positioned to help us accelerate innovation through collaboration.”
